What Is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence today is the ability of machines and programs to analyze the information received, draw conclusions, and make decisions based on them. A key characteristic of AI devices is the ability to constantly learn, accumulate knowledge and successfully apply them, that is, the ability to perform the actions performed by the human brain. To put it simply, think and realize what you have in mind: for example, preparing certain cocktails, operating vehicles or diagnosing people.

Scientists still do not have a unanimous opinion on the nature of human intelligence, and have not yet decided on clear requirements for the machine mind.

However, this does not prevent the successful development of AI technology in two ways:

Semiotic. Creating systems that inherit such processes as language, thinking, expression of emotions.

Biological. Creating neural networks that are built on the biological principle.

Of course, people can perform jobs for which artificial intelligence is created. So why are AI and is it beyond the human brain?

Advantages of artificial intelligence
The first studies on the study of artificial intelligence began in the mid-XX century. The concept of AI as a science was formulated by Dartmouth College professor John McCarthy in 1956, and the famous Turing test became the pinnacle of scientific research.

Of course, the debate over whether AI can be considered fully intelligent is still ongoing. But this does not contradict the fact that the intelligent systems that are taught make life easier for a person, even though they are trailing behind in terms of development.

Advantages of artificial intelligence:

accuracy in data processing;

the ability to analyze large amounts of information at high speed;

AI does not need sleep and lunch break, it does not make mistakes because of overwork;

artificial intelligence can be used where it is dangerous for a person to stay.

The use of learning machines and programs can significantly reduce time, cost, and promote productivity. For example, with artificial intelligence that can diagnose melanoma, doctors will be able to more accurately diagnose and spend less time on each patient. Accordingly, doctors will be able to help more people over a period of time.

Where is artificial intelligence used today?
The potential for the use of artificial intelligence is very wide, and it is already used in many fields: medicine, finance, industry, commerce and, of course, human life.

As an example, Siri and Alexa voice assistants can be downloaded on iOS, Android or Windows. There are still bots in video games that can always behave differently. There are also automatic translators as well as complete integrated smart home systems.

Artificial intelligence plays an important role in the work of enterprises. It helps to automate processes that require considerable effort, and then human involvement remains minimal. For example, LG plans to open a factory where everything from purchasing materials to shipping the finished product will be controlled by smart systems. The company's management plans to launch production of the new format as early as 2023.

Actually used AI in robotics. For example, in Russia, a child robot "Yemel" has been developed, which can recognize the language and communicate, and in the Chinese province of Henan, a patrol robot is able to distinguish and analyze persons. One of the clever robots named Sophia even obtained citizenship in Saudi Arabia.
